The One-Hour Challenge.
Individuals
Increasingly, we rely on individual donations for the continued support of those in the community we serve. Whether you're an office worker or an attorney, consider giving, at a minimum, one hour of your hourly wage or billable rate. This donation, which will unite you with hundreds in our community who care about the basic legal rights of us all, will help us meet our goal of providing legal assistance to those who most desperately need it. Your gift may allow a family to stay in their home, help a senior obtain disability assistance, or provide security for a family suffering domestic violence.
There are a wide range of ways to make a contribution. Gifts of cash, securities, real estate, and other gifts of tangible property can be of immediate benefit to achieving the goals of increasing access to legal services for low-income clients. Alternatively, you can make a donation in honor or in memory of a colleague or loved one. I'm ready to contribute now.
Matching Gifts
Ask your employer if it sponsors a matching gift program. Employers often recognize their employees' community commitment and spirit by increasing the impact of their gifts. Many companies match employee contributions to charitable organizations by as much as 2:1, and sometimes more.
Payroll Deduction
Find out if your company encourages charitable giving through payroll deduction. This mechanism has been an attractive way for many individuals to make a larger gift over time, through accumulative giving throughout the year.
